The Susie Carson Research Room honors one of Southport's most venerable historians and the co-founder of the Southport Historical Society.
Susie Carson’s vast collection of files that capture Southport’s history “A to Z”, as well as her books, photos, and lesson plans represent a huge portion of the materials in the Suzie Carson Research Room (SCRR) archives. SHS researchers have continued to add photos, reports and family histories to this collection.
We are always looking for assistance in researching and writing local history and scanning documents.
If your family is from Southport, please consider sharing family photos and stories with us. We will scan the information and return the originals to you.
Please contact us if you are interested in volunteering or contributing family photos, stories and history.
The SCRR is an extensive repository of information available for free to all genealogists and historians. Click the image below to access the online collection.
