Old Brunswick County Jail Museum:
- Be a docent! Learn about the Old Jail’s history and share the fascinating stories with our visitors.
- Help create new exhibits
- Building maintenance
- Heritage Garden maintenance
Education:
- Give a Second Tuesday Talk
- Local School education – bring the SHS to community schools
- Help with the Susan Carson Scholarship program
- Write an article for our newsletter or blog
Old Smithville Burying Ground:
- Help to keep the historic old burying grounds beautiful
- Portray one of our local historic characters in the Living Voices of the Past program
- Help clean and restore tombstones in need of TLC
Susie Carson Research Room:
- Help organize and maintain the records and donations in the SCRR
- Scan historical documents for preservation and online use
- Respond to requests for historical or genealogical research
- Do your own research project and enhance our archives
- Help create new exhibits for Ft. Johnston museum
Oral History:
- Interview community members
- Video interviews
- Edit videos
- Upload videos to our Youtube channel
- Suggest community members to be interviewed

SHS Books:
- Keep books stocked in various areas
- Help us to ship our book orders
- Develop a new book
- Review new books to sell
Fund Raisers:
- Christmas Home Tour – be a docent at a home or at the jail
