Gravestone Cleaning Class at Old Smithville Burying Ground
In September 2021, SHS member Dawn Taylor of Carved in Stone Cemetery Preservation Services provided a fun and interesting class for SHS members on the proper care and cleaning of cemetery gravestones. The class which took place in the Old Smithville Burying Ground was well-attended and the students cleaned the Howe and Smith monuments as a class project.
